I am Andrew Moore
I am a designer, strategist, educator and illustrator with extensive experience in highly regulated industries. Through illustration and visual storytelling, I help teams understand complexity and design solutions that support a more sustainable and equitable future.
Designing for a more sustainable future through…
Systems Thinking
Underlying my entire approach to design and sustainability is systems thinking. Creating a sustainable future requires developing an understanding of the systems that make up the our shared world and how they affect one another.
Accessibility
Good design augments a user’s potential to act, and making sure that potential is available to everyone at all levels of ability as a foundational principle of good design.

Communities
When families live in stable homes in sustainable communities, they have greater opportunities to prosper in all aspects of life and are more resilient to life’s shocks and stressors.

Design Research that lets the world tell its story…
Global Perspective
As climate change displaces a greater proportion of the world’s populations, new understandings of home and community will evolve. By learning from the traditions of cultures that have lived on the move for thousands of years in places like the Gobi Desert, we can find strategies for building more adaptable and resilient societies.

User Research
Understanding people means letting people tell their own stories on their own terms.

SCAD Seminars
Leading visiting high school students through week-long industrial design sprints meant focusing on what was most important to them: making wild and mildly dangerous inventions in SCAD’s fabrication labs.
Design Academy
When Fannie Mae’s Customer Experience Design Team wanted to extend the reach and impact of human-centered design within the enterprise, we partnered with The LUMA Institute to offer a variety of trainings, workshops, and coaching to our partners within Fannie Mae. As lead instructor, I led the instruction of the Design Academy, tracked instructor performance and conducted program assessment, and facilitated innovation workshops with the CXD team’s internal partners.
